As I sit and gaze out the windows of the Longyear building, I witness the first light dusting of snow
blanketing the streets, rooftops, and treetops of our quiet lakeside town. Occupying a piece of history
while watching history unfold. It is a moment one waits a lifetime for.
The leaves have changed color, wilted, and fallen to the sidewalks and streets. The same sidewalks and
streets that foster the hustle and bustle of the hard-working folks (that’s you) that reside in our mighty
and ravishing peninsula. The days are getting shorter, colder, and darker.
The large flakes that are decorating our town remind me that winter is now upon us. A small shiver runs
